South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has released an action plan to promote fitness-for-all programs from 2020 to 2030.

In response to the central government's call for building a healthy China, Guangxi unveiled the Healthy Guangxi Fitness-for-all Action Plan and pledged to realize universal coverage of sports facilities in all administrative villages and public sports facilities and venues opened free of charge or at low fees by 2022.

According to the plan, the region will work to achieve the goal of having 37 percent of its people exercise regularly by 2022 and 40 percent by 2030, as well as making its per capita public space for sports reach 1.9 square meters by 2022 and 2.3 sq m by 2030.

The plan said that Guangxi will also work on popularizing fitness knowledge and skills, building more public sports facilities, implementing health promotion actions in primary and secondary schools, enriching sports activities for the elderly, and promoting hypoglycemic exercises.
