The 2025 China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable on Construction and its supporting activities will take place in Guilin from Sept 15 to 21, with all preparations progressing as scheduled, according to a recent announcement.

The series of events comprises a main roundtable and three supporting activities: an exhibition focusing on construction technology, a forum for city leaders, and a forum dedicated to collaboration in the construction industry.

These components collectively aim to deepen China-ASEAN exchanges across technical innovation, urban governance, and industrial development in the construction sector.

Scheduled for Sept 15, the roundtable will focus on technological empowerment, cultural preservation and high-quality development in construction.

Participants will discuss key areas such as building safe, comfortable, eco-friendly and smart housing to improve living standards; promoting intelligent construction and urban renewal through technology; protecting historical urban areas and traditional villages; and developing climate-resilient, livable smart cities. The meeting will also see the release of a joint initiative named after Guilin.

Running alongside the roundtable, the three supporting events will provide platforms for showcasing cutting-edge construction technologies, sharing urban management experiences, and exploring concrete cooperation pathways, further solidifying China-ASEAN ties in the construction field.
