Over 30 international sister cities representing 19 countries are scheduled to participate in the "Guangxi International Sister Cities at CAEXPO" event, which will be held during the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO). This announcement was made by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Oct 10.

The exhibition will encompass an area of nearly 600 square meters, featuring a main zone dedicated to Guangxi. It will include a specialized section showcasing South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal province. The event will also present "Charming City" pavilions representing Malaysia's Perak State and Cambodia's Sihanoukville Province.

The exhibition will feature a comprehensive display of outcomes resulting from sister city exchanges, innovative AI-driven cooperation initiatives, detailed urban profiles, and a variety of specialized products.

To enrich visitor engagement, a stamp-collecting activity will be organized. Participants who complete the activity will be rewarded with custom-designed PIN badges as well as additional souvenirs.

Delegates from various sister cities will participate in Guangxi's international sister city promotion and exchange events. These gatherings will provide a valuable platform for sharing development experiences, fostering deeper understanding, and exploring new opportunities for cooperation and mutual growth.

They will also visit important facilities, including the China-ASEAN AI Innovation Cooperation Center, to gain valuable insights into Guangxi's socioeconomic development. This visit aims to foster practical collaborations across various fields.

Currently, Guangxi maintains a total of 132 sister city relationships with 40 different countries across five continents, positioning it fifth nationwide in terms of international partnerships. Its 61 sister city ties with ASEAN member nations represent the highest number of such relationships within the country.

Guangxi has invited its international sister cities to participate in the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) annually since the expo's inaugural session in 2004. Launched in 2022, the "Guangxi International Sister Cities at CAEXPO" event integrates exhibition zones, promotional seminars, and visiting talks to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation.
