The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) will debut with a 10,000-square-meter artificial intelligence (AI) pavilion at its opening in Nanning on Sept 17.

Nearly 200 high-tech enterprises are scheduled to participate in this event, where they will showcase an extensive array of approximately 1,200 cutting-edge innovative products.

These offerings encompass a wide range of advanced technologies, including augmented reality glasses integrated with AI, HarmonyOS-powered foldable computers designed for seamless portability, humanoid robots capable of complex interactions, and multilingual intelligent translation terminals that facilitate real-time communication across language barriers.

The expo covers a total area of 160,000 square meters, featuring a primary venue in Nanning that serves as the central hub for activities and exhibitions. Additionally, there is a designated tourism exhibition zone situated in Guilin. Over 3,200 enterprises representing 60 different countries are set to participate.

ASEAN countries have been actively engaging with the expo's emphasis on AI. Notable regional institutions will participate, including Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology and Brunei's Innovation Lab, which are organizing corporate delegations for the first time.

These delegations will demonstrate various innovations: Brunei's AI-powered smart healthcare system, Malaysia's AI implementations in green energy, and Thailand's "Digital Economy 4.0" achievements. Together, they seek to create a vibrant cross-border "tech bazaar."

This year's expo features several first-time events: a China-ASEAN AI Ministers' Roundtable for policy discussion, the launch of a "Top 100 Chinese AI Unicorn Enterprises Going Global" list (selected from 1,045 candidates), and AI-driven preparation tools that have already connected over 3,500 online trade pairs and scheduled nearly 900 offline meetings.

New pavilions dedicated to emerging productive forces, the blue economy, and premium exports, along with 15 launch events, are expected to boost business deals and strengthen cooperation.
