The 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Program - International Summer Camp on Intelligent Robots recently concluded at Guangxi Normal University.
The 14-day program welcomed 31 participants from seven overseas universities, including Vietnam National University, Ma Chung University, Universitas Brawijaya and State University of Malang.
Clutching their completion certificates, they shouted "We did it!" in over 10 languages, bringing their cross-border tech journey to a fitting close.
Duong Quang Minh from Vietnam National University recalled his robot once "spinning like it was drunk", but through repeated attempts, he achieved centimeter-level positioning accuracy in autonomous navigation. "It's unforgettable to experience the full process from theory to practice," he said, vowing to encourage more peers to join.
Muhammad Putra Anandra from Indonesia used a camera instead of lidar. "Seeing the robot recognize my face felt like J.A.R.V.I.S coming alive in Iron Man," he said.
Vietnamese teacher Linh cited the Tao Te Ching: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," he said, noting that the camp fostered knowledge, friendship, and cross-cultural ties – marking the first step toward deeper cooperation.
Focused on robotics tech, the camp included three lectures, nine training courses, and a task challenge. Participants also visited local memorials, cultural centers, and tech firms. Guangxi Normal University has inked cooperation deals with ASEAN universities, extending this "tech Silk Road" for educational exchanges.
