Guangxi's cross-border e-commerce trade exceeded 25 billion yuan ($3.47 billion) in the first half of 2025, up over 140 percent year-on-year. Nearly 70 percent of this trade was with ASEAN, the province's commerce authority noted on July 28.
This year saw three new cross-border e-commerce pilot zones approved, bringing Guangxi's total to seven. Nanning upgraded its supervision systems with seamless customs clearance and AI. Wuzhou completed a first-phase clearance center, creating a "platform plus supply chain" ecosystem. Fangchenggang enhanced its infrastructure for a China-Vietnam cross-border e-commerce AI zone.
Local policies on overseas warehouses and talent training have accelerated growth. ASEAN-targeted live-streaming contests are helping to foster expertise, with zones becoming ASEAN-focused industry clusters and training bases.
Guangxi has now established over 30 overseas warehouses in ASEAN, Europe, and America, helping more than 600 cross-border e-commerce enterprises sell their products to over 160 countries and regions.
Moving forward, Guangxi will host an "AI plus cross-border e-commerce" contest, boost clearance centers and its three warehouses (overseas, border, and bonded), and build an AI-powered ASEAN hub.
