Qinzhou organizes marathon to show coastal canal city charm

The 2025 Qinzhou Marathon kicked off in Qinzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on March 16. Over 18,000 sports enthusiasts from various provinces, such as Guangdong, Hunan, and Guizhou, gathered to experience the unique charm of this coastal canal city.

The race included a full marathon with about 42.2 kilometers, a half marathon with about 21.1 kilometers, and health and family runs, passing through city landmarks such as Baishi Lake, Beibu Gulf University, and Longmen Bridge, aiming to showcase the city's distinctive appeal.

The full marathon concludes with Huang Aifeng from Henan winning the men's title with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 28 seconds, while Huang Meiying from Nanning, Guangxi, clinched the women's title with a time of 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 13 seconds.

The half marathon concludes with Zhou Fengrong winning the men's title with 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 52 seconds, and Lu Jian securing the women's title with 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 7 seconds.

Marathons have flourished across China in recent years. With the deep integration of sports with cultural tourism, various cities have combined local cuisine and cultural landscapes with races, turning sports competitions into mediums for city branding.

Qinzhou officials stated that the marathon is not just a sports event but an opportunity to experience the city's charm fully. The 2025 Qinzhou Marathon is significant in promoting public fitness, advancing community sports, and showcasing Qinzhou's coastal canal city image.
