The 2025 Guangxi Sanyuesan Festival is scheduled to run from March 31 to Apr 28, featuring an international folk song competition, cyber folk song project, and the China-ASEAN Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, showcasing the rich traditional culture and customs of various ethnic groups, local officials announced.

Sanyuesan, which refers to the third day of the third month in the Chinese lunar calendar, is a traditional festival for many ethnic groups across China. Guangxi has recognized it as an official local holiday since 2014, and it is celebrated annually with grand activities.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Year. Guangxi has planned various border tours during the festival period. Visitors can experience cross-border tourism at the Detian-Ban Gioc Waterfall, enjoy a Chinese-Vietnamese cuisine feast, and participate in cultural exchanges.

Additionally, the event is set to feature the screening of the China-Vietnam romance film Border Sea and a friendly soccer match with Vietnamese people.

During the festival, the China-ASEAN Mercantile Exchange also launched a special section for Guangxi-ASEAN products and hosted ASEAN-themed live streams.
