Zhang Shuxin, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and deputy general manager of Beibu Gulf Port Group, emphasized that smart port construction is the key focus of this year.
Guangxi's Beibu Gulf Port has held an increasingly prominent strategic position in the nation's new development framework as a strategically developed international gateway port under the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor national strategy.
Currently, the Beibu Gulf Port Group operates 50 international shipping routes, with 81 container routes covering major domestic and Southeast and Northeast Asian ports. The port's container throughput exceeded 9 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2024, and the annual number of sea-rail intermodal trains surpassed 10,000.
Diligently fulfilling his responsibilities, Zhang has actively contributed suggestions based on thorough research, focusing on accelerating infrastructure, information technology, smart terminal construction, and logistics industry development at Beibu Gulf Port.
With extensive experience in bulk commodity supply chains, ports, logistics, and import-export trade, Zhang continues to focus on technological innovation to empower port development this year.
