The opening ceremony of the China Shuolong-Vietnam Lyvan Crossing was held on Feb 27, marking a milestone in the expansion of Shuolong port in Guangxi.

The crossing's opening means that all three cities and eight counties along the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's border now have port access.

Shuolong Highway Port, located in Shuolong town, Chongzuo, Guangxi, was approved as an international port by the State Council in April 2022 and expanded to include the Yanying channel. The Shuolong channel is designated for passenger and vehicle traffic, while the Yanying channel is for cargo and freight vehicles.

China has constructed two entry and exit lanes at the Shuolong channel, equipped with advanced intelligent customs supervision facilities, which are capable of handling the entry and exit of 1 million people per year.

Shuolong Customs has set its sights on enhancing public health capabilities at the port, improving supervision efficiency, and boosting service levels to support high-quality economic development in the border ethnic areas.

The opening of the Shuolong-Lyvan Crossing is expected to further promote border prosperity and trade development between China and Vietnam, playing a crucial role in fostering long-term, stable, and friendly cooperation between the two countries.
