The cargo volume of Dongxing Port in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region reached 1.58 million metric tons in 2024, up 75.3 percent, and cargo value hit 139.77 billion yuan ($19.27 billion), up 86.1 percent. Both were record highs in 2024 under the port's smart regulation.
Dongxing Port has become a key node in China-ASEAN cross-border logistics, attracting many electronics supply chain companies. The intermediate goods trade at the port totaled 92.52 billion yuan, up 98.4 percent, with imports at 43.53 billion yuan, up 170 percent, and exports at 48.98 billion yuan, up 59.7 percent in 2024.
The Dongxing Customs has applied smart quarantine inspections, automatic disinfection, remote temperature monitoring, and intelligent release systems for cargo vehicles, providing information support for quick clearance.
"The customs clearance here is very fast. From entry to exit, it only takes a few minutes," said a passing-by Vietnamese driver, who has 18 years of cross-border transport experience. He noted that Dongxing Port's clearance process has become increasingly efficient.
Dongxing Port, with the most diverse designated regulatory sites in Guangxi, also handles a large variety of fresh agricultural imports. The customs have implemented various measures, reducing inspection times by half and ensuring the freshness and quality of goods.
