The prefecture-level city of Yulin, situated in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region at the junction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, is an active commodity hub as the home to the country's largest spice trading market, where 80 percent of China's spices and more than two-thirds of the world's spices flow through.

Zhang Huqiang, mayor of Yulin, said known as the "Southern Spice Capital" and the "Southern Medicine Capital of China", Yulin is also well supported by favorable policies such as the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Industrial Cooperation Zone.
