The 2025 Chinese New Year Reception of the China Cultural Center Sydney and the launch ceremony for the partnership between the center and Guangxi were held in Sydney on Feb 7.
Over 100 attendees, including cultural representatives from China and Australia, gathered to celebrate the Chinese New Year and witness the initiation.
Liu Dong, director of the Chinese Cultural Center Sydney, said that Guangxi, as a desirable tourist destination, is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, and that the center will collaborate closely with Guangxi to introduce a series of cultural projects this year, showcasing Guangxi's rich cultural and tourism attractions and strengthening cultural exchanges between Guangxi and Australia.
Ban Huaqin, deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, noted that various cultural activities will be conducted in the future to deepen cultural and tourism exchanges between China and Australia, promoting mutual visits between people from both countries.
Ban also welcomed Australian people to visit Guangxi and personally experience its unique charm.
The event featured a performance that celebrated the festive spirit and unique charm of Guangxi's Zhuang ethnic culture. Highlights included the song and dance Stunning Chinese New Year, the folk music Sister's Ballad, and the ethnic dance Silver Fall, which captivated the audience.
The Guangxi cultural and tourism photography exhibition was also held at the same time, along with displays of traditional crafts such as embroidered balls, Zhuang brocade, and Liubao tea, offering attendees an immersive and culturally rich experience.
