Guangxi sees record-breaking foreign trade in 2024

Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region achieved steady and high-quality commerce development in 2024, officials of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region recently announced.

The autonomous region conducted over 3,000 trade-in activities for consumer goods last year, with a total of 4.19 million consumers participating, benefiting over 1 million households. These activities helped over 5,000 enterprises achieve 27 billion yuan ($4 billion) in transactions.

By focusing on strengthening industries, expanding markets, tapping potential, and enhancing responsiveness, Guangxi effectively promoted the optimization and steady growth of foreign trade.

The region's total imports and exports were valued at 756.39 billion yuan in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 9.4 percent. This growth rate was 4.4 percentage points higher than the national average and 1 percentage point higher than the western region's average, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth above 7 percent. Guangxi ranked 13th nationwide and second in West China in terms of trade scale.

In addition, the region stabilized its existing investments, attracted new ones, and increased its foreign investment scale last year. It also enhanced connectivity and built platforms to achieve a higher level of domestic and international openness.
