Domestic tourists to Guangxi up 12.5% during Spring Festival holiday

The number of domestic tourists visiting the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday from Jan 28 to Feb 4 increased by 12.5 percent compared to last year, while that of overseas tourists visiting the region rose by 11.7 percent.

Tourists from Guangxi's neighboring provinces, such as Guangdong, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Yunnan, were the main visitor source to the region. Most tourists opted for short trips of one to four days, accounting for 68 percent of the total. Popular destinations in Guangxi included Guilin, Nanning, Liuzhou, and Beihai.

Guangxi residents were also enthusiastic about traveling to other places during the Spring Festival holiday, with Guangdong, Hunan, and Guizhou being popular destinations. Outbound tourism increased by 16.1 percent, with Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia being favored destinations.

The festive activities in Guangxi were vibrant, with peak visitor numbers at tourist spots being recorded on Jan 29, and peak traffic in commercial areas was seen on Feb 3.
