Great efforts have been made by the general border inspection station in Guangxi to promote the high-quality development of Guangxi and maintain border security and stability in 2024, officials announced during the Jan 8 press conference.
A total of 14.31 million inbound and outbound personnel and 1.6 million vehicles, including aircrafts, ships, and trains, were inspected at all eight checkpoints in Guangxi last year, with year-on-year increases of 70.9 percent and 37.5 percent, respectively.
By promoting smart customs clearance, the clearance time at all checkpoints and affiliated channels in Guangxi has been reduced by 75 percent.
Guangxi has ensured the smooth operation of the China-Vietnam Detian (Ban Gioc) Waterfall Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone and the inaugural voyage of the Beibu Gulf International Cruise Homeport. Three ports, three affiliated channels, and 11 new berths at ports have gained official permission and opened to the public.
To facilitate port clearance acceleration, the smart port construction between China and Vietnam has been advanced, promoting the application of the vehicle express customs clearance system, reducing clearance time by 75 percent.
