Guangxi's 14 cities have recently released their GDP data for the first three quarters of 2024, showing a steady overall growth trend. The region's GDP grew by 3.6 percent, higher than the first quarter's growth by 0.5 percentage points. Among the cities, Fangchenggang led with a 7-percent growth rate, followed by Chongzuo at 6.2 percent and Wuzhou at 6 percent.
Nanning, as the capital, showed stable economic performance with strong growth in agriculture and industry, particularly in general machinery manufacturing and chemicals. The city also saw substantial investments in transportation and waterway infrastructure.
Liuzhou continued to focus on revitalizing traditional industries while fostering emerging sectors, with 51.5 percent of its industrial categories showing growth. Meanwhile, Guilin's equipment manufacturing sector experienced accelerated growth, with a 19.1-percent year-on-year increase in industrial output.
Fangchenggang, the standout performer, experienced remarkable growth in both industrial output and foreign trade, with exports surging by 17.4 percent year-on-year. Other cities, like Beihai, Qinzhou, and Baise, also exceeded the regional growth rate, reflecting robust economic resilience across Guangxi.
