On the evening of Oct 30, a special stage of the China Theatre Association's Plum Performance Award took place in Guilin. Established in 1983, the Plum Performance Award is the highest honor in Chinese theater, recognizing outstanding performers.

The performance featured 12 renowned artists from Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Yunnan, as well as local Guangxi talent—who participated in the first Southwest Drama Exhibition in 1944—who gathered in Guilin to perform alongside actors from various theatrical genres in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the exhibition.

The event began with a captivating welcome song, followed by a rich array of performances showcasing various traditional genres, including The Legend of the White Snake and Mulan Joins the Army.

This blend of classic and new works illustrated the vibrant evolution of contemporary Chinese theater, captivating the audience and honoring the enduring legacy of artistic expression in the picturesque setting of Guilin.
