On the morning of Oct 20, the 2024 Yangshuo Triathlon kicked off with a burst of energy. Athletes from around the world gathered in Yangshuo, Guilin, to challenge their speed and endurance in this scenic yet grueling competition. The event featured multiple races, including a half ironman, a standard distance race, and a team relay, as well as a leisurely swimming experience in the Lijiang River.

As athletes plunged into the river's emerald waters, they cut through the misty morning, transitioning seamlessly between swimming, cycling, and running. The scenic routes, passing through picturesque villages, bridges, and green valleys, infused the race with a sense of natural beauty and excitement.

After an intense competition, Peter Wolkowicz emerged victorious in the men's half ironman with a time of 3:56:28, while Chen Yixuan took the women's title. The Longji team triumphed in the team relay.

The event was supported by over 400 volunteers and a dedicated safety team to ensure a smooth and safe race. The Yangshuo Triathlon, now in its seventh year, continues to blend sports with tourism, contributing to local economic growth while promoting the "sports + tourism" model for future development.
