The 2024 Tour of Guangxi (UCI WorldTour) kicks off today, Oct 15, in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. All 19 participating teams worldwide, including China's national team, have arrived in the city and have been conducting practice sessions over the past few days.

The Fangchenggang stage encompasses a 149.4-kilometer course, starting and ending at the Beibu Gulf Marine Culture Park. The route incorporates features such as Guomen Avenue, which links to the China-Vietnam border, and the Xiwan Cross-sea Bridge. Cyclists will complete four circuits of the 6.6-km coastal stretch along Beibu Gulf Avenue, with two designated sprint points along the route.

In addition to the main race, the event is set to feature family-friendly activities like the "Little Cyclists" ride, where local children are expected to participate in fun cycling events alongside their parents. Nearly 2,000 volunteers, including students and medical teams, are on hand to ensure the smooth running of the race.

With upgraded urban landscapes and cultural performances planned at the start and finish points, Fangchenggang is ready to showcase its beauty to the world.
