A new container trade route from Beiliu, Yulin, Guangxi, via Chishui Port, Wuzhou, to Bangkok, Thailand recently opened, local media outlets reported on Oct 7.

The route is expected to provide a high-efficiency international shipping channel for the unique products along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. By cutting delivery costs by approximately 10 percent, this route will create new opportunities for Guangxi's foreign trade companies to expand into Southeast Asian markets.

Since the relaunch of Chishui Port's foreign trade operations in 2023, six new trade routes have been added, making a total of eight routes. From January to September this year, Chishui Port handled 9.33 million metric tons of cargo, including 80,400 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
