On Sept 16, the Guangxi Cultural Tourism Delegation hosted a series of Mid-Autumn Festival activities in Colombo city, Sri Lanka, bringing a cultural feast of Guangxi's unique features to the local people.
The event comprised cultural tourism promotion sessions, a Guangxi intangible cultural heritage market, and a Mid-Autumn poetry gathering. These activities showcased the diverse cultural arts, folk customs, natural landscapes, and historical cultural heritage of Guangxi.
During the Mid-Autumn poetry gathering, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament delivered speeches emphasizing the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Full Moon Festival in the cultures of both countries, fostering cultural exchange and friendship between the two nations.
The splendid performances by the artists immersed the audience in a festive Mid-Autumn atmosphere, displaying the heartfelt blessings of reunion and friendship between the people of China and Sri Lanka.
This event strengthened the friendship between the people of China and Sri Lanka, expanded cooperation areas, and Guangxi is set to continue to enhance communication with Sri Lanka, organizing more diverse exchange activities to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative and building a community with a shared future for humanity.
