Recently, the layers of rice paddies in the Baping Terraces in Mangchang town, Nandan county, resemble a green ocean as the terraces enter the best viewing season.
For the 11th consecutive year, Nandan has been conducting rice paddy art creation in the Baping Terraces. This year, an art piece with the theme of "strong agricultural nation" measures 330 meters in length and 110 meters in height, covering an area of over 50 mu (3.33 hectares).
It uses colored rice in red, white, yellow, black, and green as "paintbrushes." Below the large characters are artistic small characters saying, "Strong agriculture, beautiful countryside, prosperous farmers.”
The artwork depicts a Zhuang ethnic woman situated on the left side, holding heavy rice ears to symbolize a bountiful harvest. In contrast, on the right side, a massive tractor and a drone engaged in aerial operations represent the aspiration for achieving agricultural modernization.
Currently, it is the best time to appreciate this artwork, and this beautiful scenery will last until early October, providing ample time for tourists to enjoy this unique rural landscape.
