The China International Import Expo (CIIE) in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the seventh in a series of local investment promotional events for the CIIE held in 2024, will take place from July 3 to 5.
The event will see the participation of numerous Fortune Global 500 companies, multinational corporations, industry leaders, and representatives from international business associations. Activities will include the launch of the exhibitor recruitment and the signing ceremony for the eighth CIIE, a themed promotional event, specialized industry matchmaking sessions, and field visits to key cities.
Guangxi has collaborated with the CIIE over the years, yielding fruitful results in procurement and investment attraction.
Since the inaugural CIIE, Guangxi has consistently mobilized high-level trade missions to showcase its purchasing demand in industries like healthcare, spices and seasonings, and personal care products.
Moreover, Guangxi has showcased its unique culinary delights, picturesque landscapes, and Zhuang ethnic culture at the CIIE. For instance, at the fourth edition of the expo, Guangxi adorned its exhibition area with traditional elements like oil-paper umbrellas, along with products like Sanhuan ceramics, pearls from local brand Pearl Royal and Liuzhou luosifen (river snail rice noodles), captivating visitors from around the world with the region's distinctive charm.

At the fifth CIIE, Guangxi's exhibition area in the intangible cultural heritage display area featured elements such as ethnic minority architecture, Zhuang brocade, and Guilin landscapes, along with booths showcasing Guilin tea, flavors, liquor, arts, and medicine, presenting Guangxi's ecological beauty, cultural richness, and industrial prowess.
During the sixth CIIE, Guangxi showcased its abundant natural resources, rapid economic development, and accelerated openness in its exhibition area dedicated to time-honored Chinese brands.
Apart from attending the CIIE, Guangxi has leveraged the CIIE platform to boost trade development. In 2019, an investment promotion roadshow for the second CIIE was held in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi, marking the first time the CIIE ventured into the country's southwestern region. In 2023, the relationship between the CIIE and Guangxi was further enhanced as the first roadshow for the sixth CIIE took place in Nanning, recruiting buyers from the Guangxi region to explore opportunities in the food and agricultural products, medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition areas of the CIIE.
Since its inception in 2021, the CIIE local investment promotion initiative has arranged for nearly 1,000 foreign-funded enterprises to participate in events across Sichuan, Liaoning, Jiangxi, Jilin, Yunnan, and Chongqing.
