2,000th sea-rail intermodal train marks Beibu Gulf Port's milestone

On the morning of March 17, a sea-rail intermodal train carrying 108 containers filled with Burmese black sesame, Hainan coconut juice, Guangxi white sugar, and other goods departed from the Qinzhou Railway Container Center Station, heading towards the Chengxiang Station in Sichuan.

This significant milestone of the 2,000th sea-rail intermodal train along the Beibu Gulf Port New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in 2024, completing the first quarter's operation task a remarkable 14 days before schedule, is a testament to the Beibu Gulf Port Group's unwavering commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Beibu Gulf Port Group has been optimizing the structure of goods sources, expanding the proportion of foreign trade, increasing the scale of high-value-added goods, enhancing efficiency, and reducing costs.

As of March 10, the volume of outbound foreign trade soared to 20,539 standard containers, marking a substantial 36 percent year-on-year increase. Among these, 11,023 standard containers were transported through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor from Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, accounting for 23 percent of the total volume, with a significant 35 percent year-on-year increase.

The Beibu Gulf Port Group is steadfast in its vision, targeting 9 million standard containers in annual container throughput and setting its sights on 10,000 trains for sea-rail intermodal transport along the Beibu Gulf Port New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. This ambitious plan and comprehensive improvement of services at the Beibu Gulf Port is poised to undoubtedly propel Guangxi's efforts to build a convenient domestic and international dual-cycle market operation.
