The city of Guilin will take the lead in developing into a world-class tourist city and actively promote the quality and sustainable growth of its economy.

Li Chu, the mayor of Guilin, stated that Guilin will promote the construction and development plan for Guilin World-Class Tourist City, expediting significant initiatives such as the preservation and enhancement of the Lingqu Canal, hosting the Guilin Arts Festival, promoting and conserving new Guilin classics, and safeguarding the Lijiang River.

In the development of a modern industrial system, the government has fostered 24 nationally recognized specialized, elaborative, characteristic and emerging enterprises, promoted the vitalization of industries, rural areas, and science education, created pillar industries that are large in scale and have strong driving forces, and strengthened clusters for distinctive fruits, vegetables, and other industries.

Li mentioned that Guilin will continue to emphasize the recovery and expansion of consumption, conducting events such as the Lijiang River Shopping Festival to boost cultural and tourism consumption. The city will focus on key areas such as transportation, water conservancy, and wind power, and speed up the construction of 13 expressways, including the Guilin-Zhongshan Expressway.

In addition, the city will vigorously attract investment and become a hub for industrial transfers, facilitating the operation of a domestic and international dual-cycle market for Guangxi, while also providing significant support for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
