The 2023 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum was held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, from Dec 24 to 25. The event gathered nearly 500 representatives from China and ASEAN countries to explore new approaches for the high-quality development of vocational education.
Huang Hui, deputy director of the Ministry of Education's Center for Vocational Education Development, said that Guangxi is at the forefront of cooperation with ASEAN countries, and that it serves as a window for such cooperation.
This year, the Ministry of Education has signed an agreement with the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to deepen cooperation with ASEAN countries in the field of vocational education.
The new energy vehicle technology is one of the new and popular majors in vocational education in Thailand, according to Tienshine Potikruprasert, a representative of the Thai Ministry of Education. He added that in recent years, Thailand has attached great importance to promoting NEVs, and that Chinese automotive companies have invested into establishing production bases in Thailand, bringing supporting industries and job opportunities.
Wu Jinchang, deputy director of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, pointed out that Guangxi is willing to work with all parties to create a demonstration zone for the integration of industry and vocational education that will serve the Belt and Road Initiative and ASEAN.
