As of Dec 5, the throughput of inbound and outbound cargo vehicles at the Youyiguan border gate in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has exceeded 400,000, a year-on-year increase of 122 percent.
This was announced by a border gate official on Dec 6. The volume of cargo vehicle customs clearance ranks first among all China-Vietnam land border crossings.
The Youyiguan border gate is located in Pingxiang city, and it is an important node of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It is also one of the most convenient land routes from China to Vietnam.
In recent years, China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results. In the first 10 months of this year, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached $185.1 billion. Vietnam's exports of agricultural products, such as durian, to China have increased significantly, and cross-border e-commerce is thriving.
In order to promote high-level opening and high-quality development, the border gate has continuously optimized its on-site inspection procedures, strengthened vehicle guidance and implemented delayed clearance during peak periods.
It has also set up equipment such as appointment queue machines, self-service copy machines, and charging stations.
By the end of 2023, the clearance efficiency at the Youyiguan border gate is expected to increase by nearly 75 percent, with a daily average of over 1,400 inbound and outbound vehicle inspections. This effectively ensures the smooth operation of both the international and domestic dual circulation supply chains and industrial chains.
