Liuzhou enterprises explore new markets with ASEAN parties

The China (Liuzhou) - ASEAN Trade and Investment Exchange Conference was held on Nov 7 in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Its goal was to promote commercial exchanges and business between Liuzhou's enterprises and ASEAN national chambers of commerce and to help both sides explore new markets.

The participating companies were key export-oriented operations, covering industries including automobile manufacturing and auto parts, engineering machinery, electronics and electrical appliances, food and textiles.

Zhang Weiwei at Liuzhou Liangmianzhen Import and Export Trading said that the enterprise was to identify business opportunities and to support its "going global" strategy through the conference.

At the event, the enterprise signed a contract with the representative of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Guangxi Office.

Pang Zhiyong, director of Liuzhou foreign affairs office, called for further strengthening of communications and cooperation with representatives from various chambers of commerce and for jointly supporting Liuzhou enterprises to expand into the ASEAN market and achieve high-quality, win-win cooperation.

Liuzhou is Guangxi's largest industrial city and is also the closest one to ASEAN in China. From January to September in 2023, Liuzhou's imports and exports to ASEAN countries reached 3.4 billion yuan ($425.2 million), accounting for 11.8 percent of Liuzhou's total foreign trade.
