A promotion conference for Guangxi's China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone was held in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on Oct 24.
The conference was aimed to actively promote the transfer of domestic and international industries, and align with national strategies such as the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Guangxi is the only area in China that borders ASEAN countries both by land and sea. Currently, efforts are being made to accelerate the integration and optimization of industrial parks in cities such as Nanning and Beihai; further expand the China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone; and create new highlands for domestic and international industrial transfers.
Xie Bin, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that the conference will fully leverage the geographical advantages and complementary industries between Guangdong and Guangxi to attract key enterprises to invest in Guangxi. In doing so, both provinces will jointly contribute to the further development of the China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone.
Wu Changhai, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals, said that as a pioneer in the biopharmaceutical enterprise rooted in the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals will increase investments in Guangxi.
Over the years, the Greater Bay Area and Guangxi have maintained a good cooperative relationship, with many companies considering Guangxi as an important investment destination that focuses on industries such as the lighting, textiles, high-quality calcium carbonate, green environmental protection, and electronic information.
