A grand Fish Feast Festival was held to attract tourists and celebrate a bountiful life in Piaoli town of Longsheng county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Tuesday.

Piaoli town is located at the intersection of Guizhou, Hunan, and Liuzhou city in Guangxi. Local people have relied on fishing for generations, leading to a strong fish culture. Every year on Oct 10, fishermen hold a grand Fish Feast Festival to celebrate a bountiful and happy life.

At the annual event, people can participate in the Fish Sashimi Contest, join the muddy water fish catching contest and enjoy entertainment. The event is crowded with people, and cheers and applause are commonly heard. At the long table fish feast, local residents use fish such as carp and grass carp as ingredients, meticulously cooking up local specialties such as fish sashimi, spicy and sour fish slices, and fried fish pieces.

In recent years, Piaoli has relied on its unique historical and cultural heritage to explore new paths for the development of cultural tourism and has drawn more visitors.
