Guangxi scenic areas lure visitors for holiday

Several great scenic spots in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have rolled out a raft of measures to attract visitors during the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday that runs from Sept 29 to Oct 6.

The Detian Transnational Waterfall scenic area is holding a series of activities during the break, including a Sino-Vietnamese lantern market, acrobatics fair, coffee market and Sino-Vietnamese food market.

Starting from Sept 23, the Nanning Daming Mountain scenic area has been reopened for self-drive car tours. The scenic area has planned a series of themed activities during the holidays, such as a hanfu traditional garb and kite culture festival and an RV camping festival. 

Visitors born on Oct 1 can enjoy free entry to the park on Oct 1, 2023, by presenting their ID cards. From Sept 29 to Oct 3, visitors wearing ethnic costumes including hanfu that takes transportation offered by the scenic area can enjoy free admission.

Elsewhere, the second Chinese hibiscus flower exhibition at the Qingxiu Mountain scenic area opened on Sept 25, displaying 50,000 pots of Chinese hibiscus flowers belonging to 500 different varieties.

From 16:30 to 19:30 from Sept 9 to Oct 15, visitors to Nanning Garden Expo Park can enjoy a discounted ticket at 25 yuan ($3) per ticket, down from the original price of 45 yuan.

In addition, visitors wearing traditional Chinese ethnic costumes can enjoy a further discount, with tickets priced at 20 yuan per ticket.

At the Nanning Fenghuang Valley scenic area, visitors can enjoy free tasting of bamboo tube rice with a diameter of 15 centimeters and a length of 6 meters from Sept 9 to Oct 7.

They can also experience an 8,000-meter forest hiking trail, where they can catch fish and shrimp, hike along the creek, have barbecues and enjoy picnics by the bamboo forest and river.

Visitors born on Oct 1 can enjoy free entry to the park by presenting their ID cards.
