Guangxi's airports handle 10.79m passengers in 1st half

The civil aviation industry of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region continued to recover in the first half of 2023, officials from the Transport Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recently announced.

Total fixed asset investment in civil aviation in H1 came in at 1.46 billion yuan ($204.67 million), while total passenger throughput at Guangxi's airports reached 10.79 million, a year-on-year surge of 141.9 percent.

Total cargo and mail throughput reached 97,100 metric tons during the period.

The passenger throughput of the several airports in Guangxi achieved year-on-year positive growth. Throughput at Baise airport expanded by over 500 percent, while volumes at Guilin and Wuzhou airports increased by over 300 percent.

Aviation cargo and mail throughput at Guangxi's airports continued to grow, with a total of 97,100 tons in the January-June period, achieving a year-on-year increase of 22.3 percent.

Currently, Guangxi has opened international cargo routes to seven RCEP member countries.

From January to June, fixed asset investment in civil aviation in Guangxi reached 1.46 billion yuan, completing 41.7 percent of the annual target of 3.5 billion yuan.
