Tiandong county in Baise, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has been reputed as "the hometown of mangoes in China."
In recent years, Tiandong county has adopted a number of measures to promote the development of its local mango industry. This includes variety improvements, brand building, and park construction.
The mango industry has now become an advantageous one for farmers, as they can increase their income. Lintuo village is a major planting base in the county as it has a planting area of 13,000 mu (867 hectares). Its mango yield reached 18,000 metric tons and it achieved an output value of 65 million yuan ($9 million).
This year, Tiandong county's mango planting area measured at 342,000 mu. It is expected to reach a yield of 352,000 tons, with an output value of 1.51 billion yuan.
