A delegation of five Guangxi cultural and tourism officials visited Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore from April 6 to 15 to promote Guangxi's tourism, as well as carry out cooperation activities and exchanges.

The delegation was led by Ou Yujun, director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Seven official activities and three tourism promotion fairs were held in Guangxi's three major tourist source countries: Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore.

During the delegation's visits with the national tourism bureaus of these three countries, issues such as visa-free policies for group travel, the resumption of direct flights, and cooperation to rehabilitate the tourism industry were discussed.

Guangxi's rich tourism resources were showcased during the three promotion fairs held in Bangkok, in Thailand, Manila, in the Philippines, and Singapore. These include Guangxi's ethnic culture, history, intangible cultural heritage items, and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites.

Seminars were also held by the delegation with representatives from the local tourism industry, probing into issues that have impacted tourism, deepening friendship-city ties, restoring tourism industrial chains, and arranging tourist groups.
