Twenty companies in Guilin's Pingle county signed contracts worth 12.18 billion yuan ($1.75 billion) during the county's promotion fair for investment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on March 8 in Shenzhen.

Representatives of 159 enterprises from 10 areas, including Beijing, Shandong, Zhejiang and Hong Kong, participated in the promotion fair.

In recent years, Pingle has been adhered to giving priority to developing industries by creatively releasing preferential policies for enterprises. In 2021, its industrial output and added value for industries above designated scale expanded by 230.5 percent and 138.3 percent respectively, both ranking first in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in terms of growth. In 2022, the two figures continued to maintain high growth rates.

As a major industrial county in Guilin, Pingle is an important transportation hub in northern Guangxi. It's the only county in Guangxi to benefit from multiple strategies, such as the development of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt, the industrial transfer from the Greater Bay Area, and Guilin's development into a world-class tourism city.

At present, Pingle county industrial park has a planning area of 23,000 mu (1,533 hectares), with 800,000 square meters set aside for standard factories and 159 enterprises. It has cultivated five industrial chains, including steel, high-tech electronic information, new green building materials, deep processing of agricultural products with cold chain logistics, and new energy.
