The Guizhou section of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway began its static acceptance test on Feb 16, marking that the whole railway has entered this stage.

The static acceptance test refers to the inspections of the construction project, checking whether the project is constructed according to its design with quality and whether the system devices have been installed and debugged.

The dynamic detection, combined test, and trial operation processes will be followed after the static acceptance test, preparing for the railway's official operation.

Inspections of the railway's engineering and supporting facilities, such as power supply, electric power, communication, signal, information, disaster monitoring, as well as environmental protection will be carried out before March 15, while inspections on fire protection, environmental protection, water protection, and elevators are scheduled to be held before the end of May.

The Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Rail is Guangxi's first of its kind with a designated speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Stretching 482 km, the railway started construction in December 2017 and is expected to open in 2023.

It will operate in northwest Guangxi and southeast Guizhou province, cutting the travel time between Nanning and Guizhou's Guiyang from over five hours to around two hours.
