Guangxi will deepen economic and trade exchanges and technological cooperation with ASEAN countries in agricultural machinery, Li Hongqing of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on Dec 17.

The 2022 China-ASEAN Agricultural Machinery and Sugarcane Mechanization Exhibition also commenced in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, that day.

Li added that Guangxi and ASEAN countries will begin building production bases and boost the introduction and promotion of advanced agricultural machinery and technologies.

Guangxi has cultivated a batch of distinctive and advantageous industries of grain, sugar, fruit, vegetables, fishery and livestock industries. It has also gained advanced experience in agricultural production, which can be duplicated in ASEAN countries.

Kyaw Soe Thein, the consul-general of Myanmar in Nanning, said that Myanmar's geographic location and crop varieties are very similar to those in Guangxi and Yunnan province. The envoy expressed the hope that more Guangxi agricultural machinery manufacturers will invest in Myanmar and carry out industrial chain cooperation, bringing more benefits to local people.

Moreover, the Guangxi Agricultural Machinery Service Company unveiled its plaque that day, and is motivated to create a comprehensive operation and service platform featuring equipment R&D, manufacturing, sales and service. The enterprise will also help other Guangxi-based agricultural machinery enterprises explore ASEAN markets.
