A delegation of 12 Indonesian envoys led by Djauhari Oratmangun, the Indonesian Ambassador to China, visited Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Aug 23, carrying out business meetings with 11 Liuzhou enterprises involved in manufacturing, food, export trade, and mineral resources.

Liuzhou is a major industrial base in Guangxi and is home to a number of prestigious enterprises at home and abroad, including Liuzhou Steel Group, Liugong Group, as well as SAIC-GM-Wuling. It has become a manufacturing base focusing on the pillar industries of automobiles, steel, and machinery, as well as the emerging industries of new energy vehicles and rail transit manufacturing.

Oratmangun said that Liuzhou enjoys a strong industrial foundation even though it is only a third-tier city with a population of 4 million.

Many Liuzhou-made products have entered the Indonesian market, such as NEVs and engineering machinery. Liugong Group invested more than $150 million in Indonesia in the past three years and Wuling's first electric car model for the Indonesian market went off the production line this year.

Moreover, Liuzhou vocational schools have been carrying out education cooperation with Indonesia, cultivating technical talents in the automobile, engineering machinery, and high-speed railway. Oratmangun added that political support and preferential taxation policies will be available for Liuzhou enterprises investing in Indonesia.

The ambassador noted that the city's distinctive delicacy, Liuzhou river snail rice noodles, also known as luosifen, greatly impressed him.

The whole industrial chain of Liuzhou river snail rice noodles achieved annual sales revenue of 50.16 billion yuan ($7.31 billion) in 2021. The export volume of pre-packaged Liuzhou river snail rice noodles in the first half of 2022 expanded by 179.9 percent to 33.37 million yuan, with these products sold in 28 countries and regions, including Indonesia.
