Hu Fan, head of the Finance Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stated on March 12 that China's first departure land port tax refund pilot program had begun operations at the Beibu Gulf Port in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The project is open to export enterprises that meet the requirements outlined in the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Taxation Administration on February 28.

They can depart from the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park in Shaanxi province, clear customs there, and have their cargo transported by China Railway and its subsidiaries. The goods will be placed into containers and transported to the Beibu Gulf in Guangxi for export.

Companies will be able to file for a tax rebate as soon as they clear customs in Xi'an, improving capital use efficiency and alleviating financial pressure.

"We hope that more export companies in the middle and west regions of China can choose Beibu Gulf for export and Guangxi will accelerate the optimization of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor's service capacity," Hu added.
