Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, opened a second direct all-cargo air route to Malaysia on Feb 21. Its first one to Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, was put into operation in June 2021.
The route is conducted by the all-cargo carrier B737-300F three times a week, flying between Nanning and Sabah. It will mainly export cross-border e-commerce products and fresh flowers, as well as import seafood.
It is expected that the new route will establish an efficient and convenient air transport passage between Guangxi and Sabah, helping e-commerce and trade companies in Guangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to expand markets in east Malaysia.
Communication between Guangxi and ASEAN countries has become closer with the accelerated construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which has created a larger demand for air cargo transport.
Guangxi will open more than 15 international air cargo transport routes by 2024, basically covering all capitals and major cities in ASEAN countries.
