Beibu Gulf Port Group, which operates the Beibu Gulf Port in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, saw its revenue rise 11.4 percent year on year in 2021, the group said Tuesday.

The revenue of the Group amounted to 100.68 billion yuan (around 15.8 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021 as the container throughput in Beibu Gulf Port rose 18.8 percent year on year to more than 6 million 20-foot equivalent units of containers.

Guangxi's Beibu Gulf Port serves as an important transit point in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a trade and logistics passage jointly built by western Chinese provincial regions and Singapore.

The cargo throughput of the port has seen a surge from around 33.47 million tonnes in 2006 to 360 million tonnes in 2021, making it one of the top 10 ports in China, according to the Beibu Gulf Port Group.
