Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will formulate a comprehensive and three-dimensional transportation network by 2035 with an upgraded global logistics pattern, officials from the Transport Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on Jan 17.

The proposal was made in a 15-year transportation development plan by Guangxi, noting that Nanning, the region's capital city, will serve as the core of its transportation network, with the travel time between Nanning and other cities in Guangxi cut to be within two hours.

The commuting time in downtown areas of Guangxi cities will be shortened to 45 minutes, while traveling between cities in the Beibu Gulf city cluster will be cut to around one hour.

An efficient cargo logistics circle will be formed, enabling Guangxi cargo to reach domestic destinations in one day, ASEAN countries in two, and major global cities in three.

Clusters for an international marine hub, a modern airport cluster with regional competitiveness, a road transportation hub with regional influence, and a port cluster with global attractiveness will also be formed.

As of 2035, all level-I border checkpoints in Guangxi will have access to expressways and coastal checkpoints will have railways.
