China-ASEAN Financial City home to over 10,000 companies as of Nov 2021

The overall layout of China-ASEAN Financial City in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has been completed, officials announced during a press conference held on Dec 30, 2021.

Zeng Yiye, director of the Nanning financial office, noted that construction of core areas for an open financial gateway to ASEAN has achieved remarkable results since 2019. 

Zeng said that the added value of Nanning's financial industry in the first three quarters of 2021 went up by 4.9 percent year-on-year, 0.4 percentage points higher than the national average, which stood at 4.5 percent. 

A total of 275 financial institutions and companies were located in China-ASEAN Financial City in 2021 and 12 out of 13 of Guangxi's major demonstrative projects featuring financial opening-up set up operations in the city. 

Wu Qiang of the Nanning Central Sub-branch of People's Bank of China said that Nanning has made strong efforts to promote cross-border financial innovation to facilitate trade and investment.
