The first Indonesia-China forum on deepening communication and cooperation in the digital economy was held both online and onsite from Dec 14 to 15.
Indonesian officials noted during the event that the forum had established a platform for two countries in communication and cooperation in the digital economy and expressed hope that Indonesia could work with China to speed up local digital transformation.
Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said that Indonesia enjoys strong potential in its digital economy, while China has seen strong results in information technology. Indonesia welcomes and fully supports cooperation with China in this sector to boost the sustainable development of their digital economies.
Yang Lyufeng, director of the Big Data Development Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that Guangxi and Indonesia have a bright future building a digital Silk Road together.
"The digital economy is highly dynamic in Indonesia's market and is a major force behind expansion in ASEAN markets," said Lu Dongliang, chairman of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor, which has carried out cooperation with Indonesia in various areas.
Lu expressed hope that the company can push forward cooperation with Indonesia in business, technology, projects and capital.
A memorandum of understanding on internship programs for Indonesian higher education intuitions was also signed among units such as the China-ASEAN Information Harbor's branch in Indonesia, Iwhale Cloud Technology, Xiaomi, IDStar and Taptalk.
