The overall construction plan for Baise pilot zone for advancing China's economic opening-up (2021-30) was unveiled on Dec 2, pointing out that the zone should cast eyes on industrial opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN countries.

In March 2020, the State Council approved the establishment of the Baise pilot zone for advancing China's economic opening-up, which is an important platform for China and ASEAN for the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road.

It is located along the 359.5-kilometer southwest border line of China. It has two national border checkpoints namely Longbang and Pingmeng and seven border trade areas.

To actively deepen industrial cooperation with ASEAN, the construction of projects such as the China-ASEAN agricultural products trading center, the China-ASEAN aluminum products warehousing and trading center, and Baise life and health city are now underway.

In terms of opening up and cooperating in the agriculture sector, the plan calls for upgrading the operation level of the China-ASEAN agricultural products trading center and building a China-ASEAN comprehensive agricultural technology demonstration and research base.
