An all-cargo flight conducted by China Central Longhao Airlines to Bangkok took off on Dec 8, marking that Nanning's international air cargo throughput in 2021 exceeded 20,000 metric tons, which is double the total from 2020.
At present, Nanning has nine international air freight routes to six ASEAN countries, which has boosted economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN countries.
Guangxi Airport Group has formulated a three-year action plan for the construction of a Nanning international aviation cargo transport hub, will strive to achieve 40,000 tons of air cargo throughput in 2022 and 60,000 tons in 2023, and establish more air routes to ASEAN and other countries.
Officials from Guangxi Airport Group said that great efforts will be made to develop all-cargo airlines and improve the functions of the airport, and further improve the network layout of international cargo routes as well as speed up the construction of a Nanning international air cargo hub.
