Guilin-Liucheng Expressway has opened to traffic in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The main line of the expressway is 95.7 kilometers long. A total of 12.9 billion yuan (about 2.02 billion U.S. dollars) was invested into the construction. The opening of the expressway will facilitate travel efficiency in the mountain areas of Guangxi.
Guangxi is an important border area that connects China with ASEAN countries and plays a key role in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. And it has built new expressways that lead to other provinces or neighboring countries over past years.
