Guangxi's first vocational skills competition on study tourism was held in Guilin on Nov 20, together with the second study tourism education development forum.
The event, held by Guilin Tourism University and Guangxi Tourism Association, focused on the latest development of study tour, providing a platform for communication and cooperation for people managing the sector all over the country.
Hot issues in areas such as red tourism, rural revitalization, the inheritance of ethnic culture and ecological civilization education were covered in the competition. The event attracted nearly 100 projects, with 12 submitted by colleges and nine by the tourism industry entering the final.

Zhong Hong, vice-president of Guilin Tourism University, said that holding this event is one of the major steps to turn Guilin into a world-class tourism city.
Zhang Bin from Zhejiang University said that tourism colleges should broaden their minds to fully utilize local resources such as museums and historical remains to integrate them with tourism.
