Guangxi released its scientific innovation plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), officials from the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on Nov 16.
The document put forward that Guangxi will strengthen technology transfers and innovation cooperation as well as deepen all-round cooperation with ASEAN countries in sectors spanning the digital economy, distinctive agriculture, traditional Chinese medicine, and marine and public health. A batch of international joint laboratories and research centers will also be built.
The region has gained great momentum in the sectors as its transnational technology transfer network covers 10 ASEAN countries and 15 joint laboratories and innovation centers. It has also 12 agricultural technology industrial parks have been established.
Guangxi will attract the aggregation of high-end innovation resources from home and abroad and will launch cross-border pilot demonstration projects in areas such as logistics, medicine and finance.
It will also promote communication among talents in China and ASEAN and encourage outstanding overseas talents and students to seek employment opportunities and entrepreneurship in Guangxi.
